PIRACY - Two sides of the same coin

Piracy may seem like a mediocre term. But if we look closely it is the commonest phenomenon or rather obsession in today's world. It sounds more like a revolution! Well... look at it this way -
If a person says that he has never downloaded pirated music, movies or software then he is a BIG FAT LIAR! We are people who have grown up with internet. Most of always get a feeling that if we find stuff on the internet or just right click and save it, it belongs to us. But most of the music, movies available on the internet are copyrighted. So downloading this is like stealing candy-bars from the stores. Not offensive yet not pleasing either. But that doesn't stop any of us from doing so. Today the sole purpose of internet is getting music, movies and other stuff free of cost! Why would anyone spend cash on something you get without spending a single penny? Does it make any difference? Well, if you don't have a problem with stealing pirated music on the internet then you shouldn't technically have a problem with shop-lifting CDs or DVDs from the store either, should you?

Now lets talk about how piracy is not exactly beneficial, but not repulsive or odious either.

Well, piracy is not technically odious. The fight for piracy starts with the publishers. Why do we need to encourage their motives for gaining profit when we have better choices? Don't we as customers have a right to get what we want, what appeals to us? Its time the publishers start offering products as per the customers demands! I think this should be convincing enough to make someone believe that piracy isn't a criminal activity. That's because its sole intention is to fulfill our needs without having to gulp doing everything that the publishers forcibly spoon-feed us.
